    Hi there,

I work on the committee of a sporting club where we use paypal and our club website to sell club gear, and take in money for club activities.

The current accounts package we are using is a vast sprawling spreadsheet that is truly only properly understood by it's creator.

Can anyone advise a package that wouldn't cost the earth that would handle .csv downloads from our website and paypal reports in an easy and efficient manner as the role of treasurer changes regularly.

In short, like everyone else, we want this package to cost little and do much!! :)

    ideas?

My 2c for what its worth - with a small organisation (in terms of volume of transaction and number of people in a management type position) I would just use excel.

The biggest problem with excel in my opinion is that data can be manipulated, so you need to have other controls in place.
The other draw back being that you need to know what you are doing, rather than just painting by numbers. Is the problem that the existing speadsheets are convoluted, or a lack of financial expertise?

Personally I love excel and use it as much as possible.

Thank you for the response. Unfortunately excel is the current package and is not suited. The accounts are complicated enough, and excel is unwieldy in this instance. The system needs to be easy so that it can be passed from Treasurer to Treasurer, without needing an IT expert on standby.
