Where to buy a battery?

    The wife's Punto's battery has completely died...t

    I was quoted 75 euro from Advance Pitstop for a new one...

    Is there anywhere i'd get it a few bob cheaper? I'm in south Dublin

    (i'd fit it myself)

    There are huge variations in quality of car battery though. You get what you pay for.

    See if you can make out a date on the battery so you have an idea how old it is.

    Absolutely, never ever get a battery from a breakers yard. That the one thing that you can be sure that will not work. €30, that lad is ripping you off for a battery that's probably been discharge for 6 months and is useless.In most cases, a scrapyard battery will, even if it's relatively new, have been discharged from being unused for a long time. And when a battery is left in a discharged state for any length of time, thats it. Toast. It would only be any good for a doorstop. DONT GO TO A SCRAPPY FOR IT. BUY A NEW ONE.
