    Hi all,

Finally I have light at the end of the tunnel and my car loan is due to be paid off this October!!! So I'm planning on saving a few bob up and hopefully with my trade in I'll have €8-9 k.

Can anyone recommend me a car. My current car is a 2 door 2 seater convertible which I can't wait to get rid of. I love it but it's very impractical. I'm looking for something bigger, maybe a saloon.

I was thinking along the lines of a 1.6 316.

Any suggestions? Would also like to keep the tax as low as possible. I wouldn't do much mileage per year, mainly just drive to work and out to college. Maybe about 35 kilometres a day.

    Thanks for your help!

What do you want from a car?

I want something stylish but that's also reliable and has low running costs

Also alot of people are telling me to steer clear of BMW as they are a magnet for car theft. I thought that maybe years ago this was true, but not so much as of late..

That should never be a reason not to buy something you want. You have insurance for this reason. Anyway, if someone was going to steal a car for which you need the keys, I doubt they'd risk getting caught for a 316. Anything from the last 15 yeas, you pretty much need the keys.

I think they might have been refering to the higher powered bmws ie 325d's, 330d's or 325i's or 330i's. And the same will be true for any higher powered car in reality. Being honest i think the risk of having a 316 stolen isn't any higher than having any other car stolen

Oh perfect. To be honest I don't know too much about cars. I'm a girl, I want something stylish but at the same time reliable.

I know you said a saloon but how about a 3 series coupe? Its more practical than a 2 seater convertiable, while still being a coupe and very stylish.
