I'm lookin for some rubber sheets or even better still rolls of rubber that I cut strips from to put between the joists and ply upstairs to help sound proof, but can't seem to find any products that are suitable and good value. Anyone got ideas. If you want to recommend a particular product or company please do so via PM, thanks

Is this impact noise? If your lifting the joists you'll get several systems from dry walling / flooring companies. There are rubber options but between joist something like mineral wool might be as handy

I am looking to do the same but ddn't get around to sourcing anything yet. I had in my head to go looking for some rubber flooring (roll ends or b grade or whatever I could find cheap). Then someone mentioned to me that they thought there was a felt product available specifically designed for this purpose but again I didn't get around to looking for it yet.

Will be interested to see what you come up with.

Bryan this is to put on to the top of the joist to reduce sound transmission through the joist as opposed to insulating the void between the joists which you are talking about. But I'm sure Villain is going to do that as well.

I happen to be looking for something similar but in my case I'm looking for a sound proofing mat to reduce impact noise under a screed that will be poured upstairs. So far the most affordable one I've found is coming in around €9 per square metre once you factor in tapes and accessories. The mat itself is 4mm think and approx €6 / m2.
