Anyone a member in more than one club?

Just wondering if anyone here is a member in more than one club?

I know of a couple people who are members in 2 clubs. One main club in Cork and then country members in a club in Kerry where they spend a lot of time.

Was curious if anyone here was in a similar situation?

Sounds good, plenty of variety!! Can you play competitions in both, is that allowed?

I'm a member in 2 at the moment Bellewstown and decided to join Corballis to play golf in dryish conditions thru the winter. Sad to say that i also had country membership last year as well.

Could I ask what is the rational behind it lads?

Boredom just playing one? Deal done in conjunction between 2 clubs? Ye're just mental :D ?

Unless the membership is quite low in one of the clubs, I'm thinking it would take a lot of golf to justify the membership over green fees.

Anyone care to tell us what is the total amount you pay each year for the 2 memberships?

+1 to that, I also play a serious amount of golf and am also a bit mental:D.
Oh yea and I'm single and have no other commitments.
Also I live within the 6 miles of the two courses and they are very different, one is old parkland style and the other is a new heathland style course that demands better golf to score well.
Plus the older club is the one I play interclub comps with, but I prefer the newer course as it's a better design and layout and more challenging.

Both of my courses are parkland but they are like chalk and cheese. To complicate matters this year I have played interclub for both clubs, obviously not in the same comp tho!

800 for home club in Cork 250 for country membership on 9 hole seaside course in Kerry. Justify second club to myself by using it as a replacement for the range...that's the theory anyway.

How are the greens in Ballyheigue these days?
Play it quite a bit when I'm down in Tralee, like the course but they've been having some trouble with the greens over the last few years.

Trouble is a bit of an understatement. They've been vandalised for the last two years, something like Roundup poured on every green, heartbreaking as they were in super condition before that. To be fair to the club they arranged for Sunday competitions in other Kerry courses while they were recovering (got to play Tralee & Ballybunion for a tenner!)

Played a few weeks ago and the affected areas are much better but still a bit bare.
