    Hello.
I'm looking to get the services of a sports nutritionist to do a few talks with players in our club. And also to do up a few individual nutrition plans

Someone who can simplify down the language, and knows their stuff

    Cheers

Don't your favourite place in the world, FTI, offer a service like that? :D

...any strength/performance coach should be suitable for the job to be honest. It's hardly rocket science!

I've asked him before, but I think Dave would prefer to leave that to someone with a qualification in the area

And I've also found in the past that coaches, players and parents (of teenage players) listen much quicker if the speaker seems well qualified.

Ahh ok all good in the hood. Thought that was probably the reason behind.

We got a fat dietician into our club with a powerpoint presentation. I remember her saying it was key to get 5 portions of carbohydrates in a day. And as an example for carb portion she had 2 slices of bread. So 10 slices of bread a day.

Absolutely clueless. To be fair to the lads they sucked it all in; i mean she did this for a job (allegedly).

Qualifications don't seem to mean squat.

10 slices of bread is only 100g of carb, hardly high carb for athletes :confused::confused:

that's why I was looking for a good nutritionist

I could give the talk myself, but they wouldn't take any heed

Barry's an endurance athlete and practices what he preaches fairly successfully. No point getting someone in who regurgitates literature if they don't actually know what does and doesn't work.

Edit: He also has a good blog post HERE that used to have some great comments. No comments on it now though from where I am anyway. :(
