Things you're aware exist but will never have a bearing on your life

Popular culture & the media always big up the next big thing but there comes a time when you just don't fit the demographic.
While you're aware of the phenomenon exists you never interact with it the way the normal populace are expected to.

    Examples in my case:
    Rap Music
    Death Metal
    X-Factor
    Twilight Movies
    Horse Racing
    Musicals
    Joe Duffy

Now, it may sadden some fans of the above to learn they just don't register on someone's radar.
I know someone will reply "people being different shocker" but it's more than that.
How can an entire movement, a social milestone not even raise the slightest whim of interest in some people ?.

No 1;The Sun(celestial body) Aware its there. Know it shines occasionally. It never interested me really. Always amazed the amount people talk about it, considering how little we see it.
No 2; The Sun(news?paper) Aware its there. Rarely seen it.Never interests me, but again, lots of people talk about it

I think all those things may happen, a supervolcano, a sudden iceage a space impact, global warming.

People perception about climate change is, a cataclysmic change happens slowly. It doesn't, it happens very quickly, take the last Ice age. With-in 20 years the northern hemispere went from nice summers to a kilometre of 1ce over where Paris is now.

The same with heating we could go from our climate to a desert with-in 10 years.

But eastenders will never have a bearing on my life.

Yeaaah, I think this one probably does have a bearing on your life. Think you'd notice if it went missing tomorrow. Earth would be too dark and cold to sustain life, for a start.

Sports, excitement for mundane things like a new film coming out, Yachting, private jets, the nicest private estates that can be bought in the Caribbean, I'm going to depress myself.

Talent shows, reality tv shows, soap operas, football, R&B, young adult fiction that is made into multi million dollar film series, curry, various root vegetables excluding potatoes.

And hopefully poverty, hunger and sickness.

You have over 3000 posts on this site, where you typed words into a little box and hit "submit" so other people can read your words, but the existence of a subtler and more portable, ubiquitous and immediate way of typing words into a little box so others can read them has no bearing on your life at all?

Strange IMO, but hey, horses for courses...
