Hi there we would love to go to the Paralympics and are wondering is there any chance of tickets. Everything seems to be booked at the mo. do u need to get tickets for specific events or can u get an access all area ticket as with the Sydney paralympics. Would we be in luck if we went over on spec

I heard today they've sold 2.2 million tickets, should be amazing.

Unfortunately there are only limited numbers available. I put my order in last September and picked up 4 Track Cycling and a Swimming ticket

There are day-pass tickets that give access to a number of events in the Olympic Park, but at £10 I believe they have sold out (I managed to pick up a couple though). There may still be some left for the Excel Arena though

Ticket applications can be made here

You may also want to try Paralympics Ireland

Paralympics Ireland do still have some tickets for events featuring Irish competitors that can be picked up in London

    Details here

http://www.os-site-tracker.com/examples.php is a useful site to keep an eye on; it updates when tickets for specific sports become available on the Paralympic website.

A little off-topic, but the following is a discovery I made while in the Olympic Park which should be of benefit to anyone going to the Paralympics:

The airport-style security does not permit people to bring liquids into venues with them, and with the rip-off prices being charged for soft drinks (£2.30 for a 500ml bottle of Coke/Sprite/Fanta), there are 2 simple ways to avoid paying it, or at least not paying as much:

    1. Go to the huge McDonald's outlet and order a medium (400ml) soft drink for just 99p!
    2. Bring a few empty bottles with you and fill them at the taps located around the Park.
