Just wondering what people think of this? Although I've never liked the fact that everyone could see if someone passed or failed now I'm wondering why they changed their policy. For some reason I'm more worried now that the failure rate is much higher this year than previous years.

Personally I think it's not before bloody time.
It's was an awful way to find out and I'm delighted they've finally seen sense.
As for what it means I wouldn't over think it.

    Wait what?!

I mean, it makes sense, it was a horrible way of doing it.

How are results being released instead, though?

And you'd think we might have been informed sooner ... I mean, results are out in four days, and I haven't yet been made aware of any change?

F*cking typical institute behaviour. It's to be expected, I guess.

I got an email earlier today from the institute. It says we have to log in with our username and password to get the results. I'm not sure if it'll just say pass or fail and wait for the letter to see the actual result or if we will find out our actual marks when we log in.

Ye was wondering the same. Are we now going to get PASS, FAIL , CREDIT or are we going to get a breakdown of pass / fail per subject or are we getting the full % breakdown.....

Wow, that's quite the policy change.

I did my CAP 2s last year, failed 2 exams first time round and passed on autumn repeat and frankly I'm glad I didn't have to deal either time with people saying, "So, how did it go?" When the whole firm checks results on that day, it saves you some problems.

    see the link below:
    http://students.charteredaccountants.ie/Student-Information/What-to-expect-on-CAP2-results-day-2012/

You just use your normal student login to get to the area where the subject notes are normally stored, go to results and bobs your uncle.
They'll have the full breakdown of the marks there aswell including continuous assessment.

I have to agree with the other posters, there was never indication that the were going to move to this form, I also wonder is it something to do with the fail rates.
Im glad though, I hate the thoughts of my coworkers having a snoop

I must say you're dead right there! Not looking forward to everyone tentatively asking me on Friday how it went...!

Would much rather them to just know either way! To be honest I don't care about people snooping, it's not like they won't find out sometime anyway, and it wasn't as if they saw your exact grades!
