    Hi,

About to buy an Opel Combo and trying to decide between 2.

Both are about the same price. One is a 2009 and the other is a 2007.

    2007 model has 92000 kms
    2009 model 112000 kms.

Which is better to have lower mileage or a newer van? I am thinking the lower mileage but any other opinions would be appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

I'd go for the one that has service history, whichever one that is. If both cars have genuine history and are in good condition then I'd go for the 09 if you're not going to be doing a lot of miles.

Go for the one that is in the best condition and service history. Mileage is a flawed indication of use/wear especially on a van. It doesn't have to have been driven far in order to have been abused.

Plenty of vans out there that were not driven very far but were used to haul around stuff well over their recommended payload resulting in fecked gearboxes, clutches, suspension, etc. Also plenty of them out there driven like they were stolen by drivers who don't own or care about them.

In reality, the mileage difference is tiny, so whichever one is in the best condition, has the best history or the better spec is the one to go for IMO.

Both are the 1.3 (was going to link to both but didn't have time check forum rules).

The 2007 will have 12 months DOE but no tax.
The 2009 has DOE to December 2012 and tax to 03/2012.

Both have a 3 month warranty.

The back (inside) of the 2007 looks a bit more scratched/worn. It has a towbar too (which I don't need at the moment anyway).

The 2009 is ex lease so I am thinking it will be better serviced.

At the moment I think I am going to go with the 2009. Very much appreciate all of you taking the time to help.
