Bike stolen, no insurance. Anything I can do?

Hi, My bike was stolen from the underground carpark where I live. I did not have it insured, as it was brand new and just hadnt got around to it. Ive reported it stolen to the guards but theres no chance of getting it back. My question is, if I get insurance now, would i get away with claiming in a few months. Has anyone…
