Heading to lanzarote with the lady i love in 2 weeks time, ring bought etc.

unfortunately i'm struggling to come up with something romantic and somewhat original for when i pop the question.....

i am trying to stay clear of the restaurant route (but would consider something different in it) and not pushed the volcano on the island (heard its not great up there). the beach? not very original either....

also dont have a massive budget..staying in peurto del carmen

    any ideas are much appreciated
    thanks in advance!

not a bad idea... i have heard that the sun sets on the other side of the island, so sun rise would be on our side i assume!

    i will consider that, thanks

What about inside Jameos del Agua? It's absolutely beautiful in there.

Get up earlier than her and set up a breakfast picnic on the beach. Wake her up and suggest a stroll before breakfast, propose when you get to the picnic?

    mix this with sunrise!!!!!
    :D

That's the idea. Obviously there's the risk of your picnic being cleared away, the other half refusing to join you for the walk etc. but pull it off and she'll be bragging to mates about it for years.

It's a volcanic cave with a beautiful lagoon that has crab species that are found nowhere else, there are restaurants, gardens, a theatre, etc there, it's stunning inside around the lagoon.

    Sun rise is around 7:30am!!

Puerto del Carmen has a pretty harbour. You could keep it simple (less chance of failure) and sit out at the end of the pier, staring at the ocean and get down on your knee(s) and propose. Maybe bring along a bottle of bubbly and some (plastic) glasses for when she says Yes.

When I proposed, before digital cameras, I had the camera on tripod and self timer, pressed the button, then ran into position and as the timer counted down I proposed. I got a photo of the proposal.

Yeah it would be difficult to organise it at beach then return to hotel to get herself and hope everything is still in place ......

are you into music at all? because theres a really good band in charlies on the sea front who im sure would play you a favourite song and you could do it then. make a night of it.

also, the fire mountains are beautiful , but not really a proposal setting.

if you get a car and go around the island theres some lovely places, teguise has some lovely little restaurants, la cantina is amazing., theres a massive beach called famara with gorgeous scenery-big cliff, massive waves normally, another posh ish restaurant is lago mar, google it, really different place, and also mirador del rio is a really high up place that looks down over la graciosa one of the other islands and is also lovley scenery,

but when i think of proposals, i think sunset, or something personal to her so think about what she likes. :o)
