    Recommend me a book on training with power please - or what not to buy.

    Check out Training and Racing with a Power Meter by Hunter Allen & Andy Coggan. It's pretty much "the" book on the subject.

    Ya, I had that one in mind. But I read that it is orientated at flogging some particular type of commercial software that Hunter and Allen own - do you think that is the case?

    Not really. It runs to 400 pages, and yes it mentions the Training Peaks software but that's really just in passing - the NP and TSS measures were developed by the pair and hence there is bound to be a lot of discussion of these metrics (although they now seem to have been generally adopted now anyway)

    I suspect it's the only comprehensive book on training with power for cyclists
