Question re connecting a FTA box to twin LNB on sky dish

I had a Sky package installed a few weeks back and I asked the wife to get the installer to run a second cable from the twin LNB on the dish to let me install a FTA box.
The Sky box is working perfectly fine but I only tried to set up the FTA box recently and it looks like there is no signal to the FTA box.
Do I need to do anything special to get the FTA box to work ?

    Thanks,

Did you try to switch around the cables??

The cable that is now working the Sky box....Will that work if you plug it into the back of the FTA box? And vice-versa?

    Thanks,

Recheck sky box is working ok. Then reconnect fta box. do a scan on fta box. If that fails it may indicate a defective tuner on the fta box.

It might be that your LNB is set to "single feed mode". To change it you will need to get into the installers menu on the SKY box. On your remote, press "Services,0,0,1,Select" if you have a SKY+ box or "Services,4,0,1,Select" on a standard box. Ignore what happens on screen until you have pressed all five buttons. When you get into the menu you will see "Single Feed Mode". Make sure it is turned off and you should be able to use the second output on the LNB.

    Hope this helps.

An lnb can't be set to "single feed mode". That's just a receiver setting.

The obvious one first: check that he actually connected the second cable to the dish.

Sky don't fit twin LNBs or twin-output LNBs. I imagine it must be either a single-output or a quad-output LNB.
