Sub Woofer Problem

Not sure if this should be here or Modified Cars but il try here first and see what you make of it.

i have a Mutant X sub that came as a pre-made unit (Box, speaker, amp) has been wired in and working fine for 10-12 months however in the last few weeks its been dying out while the music is up.

Its not a power issue from what i can see as the unit is staying on and the lights are all lit up however it just stops pumping out sound leaving me with high end from the original speakers but no kick of bass from the boot!

Eventually it starts slowly making noise and kicks back in but this is happening all the time now, driving me up the walls. It doesn't seem to be power as the unit doesn't shut off, the remote line is plugged in and works fine. Ive checked the 2 audio cables and they both are tight and working okay in another car so cant figure out what the problem is here.

Ive taken the amp off and there are no dry joints on the board and no sign of anything burning or overheating as they board looks perfect and smells fine. No corrosion built up anywhere and the wires to the cone are the same in perfect condition.

    Any suggestions?

Id try putting a volt meter across the power input to the sub. Even though it stays lit, there still mightn't be enough power getting to it.
