I've been researching 8 days clocks and would like to buy one for the mantlepiece. Is there anything I need to be aware of with these especially if it is purchased abroad. Is shipping likely to upset the balance of the clock?

Anyone on here have any example of nice mechanical clocks?

I'm no experts of clocks on any level but I say once the clock is WELL packaged (3-4 inches of foam all around and in a strong cardboard box) there shouldn`t be an issue with the shipping. 8 day watches have barrel springs so if the watch is not wound there are no mayor moving parts other than the balance. The static balance should be stable enough for transport imho, but I`m no expert...
