How can i tell if my car has remote central locking ?

I bought a 00 Mazda 626, came with just two keys, no remote.

I can lock all the doors by turning the key in the door so it has central locking.

How can I tell if a remote receiver is fitted ?

And could I get remotes to match it ?

It has an alarm fitted (not working) - but that was from day 1 - from the date on the box. Could that compromise attempts to get remote locking working ?
I think the lock/unlock functions were normally controlled by the alarm set/reset, when fitted .
