I always preferred shooting rabbits with the shotgun especially on land that theyre easily spooked and run or if grass is too high
    Good shooting mate

Well they are feeding on the corn and turnips so I'm safe enough I wish I could get a few maggpies tho there's alot of them around here but I'd say the heap of buzzards around here do more damage than them and there completely protected

Nope a maggie will do a lot more damage
The theory of buzzards doing damage is a big myth
They are scavengers more so than hunters and will take rabbits at ease ( younger rabbits or sick rabbits) as for pheasant they'd be doing f all damage as pheasants are too quick and smart
Buzzards are great at rodent control tho
I'm a falconer I know bit bout buzzards
Whatever you do don't point gun at a buzzard they do no harm

I value my shotgun license more than that but I do beleave they take young pheasant poults

They might take the odd one but nothing like ground based predators such as foxes, mink etc. - the wet summer is likely to have wiped out more wild poults than any other factor this year:(

Not really man maybe odd one or two but believe it or not most birds of prey from heavier weights like my Harris hawk or buzzards are not great bird hunters and will prefer a rabbit or rat to birds

No doubt about it that they take pheasant poults. I have seen it with my own two eyes. Numbers of buzzards around me is ridiculous though so maybe they are adapting due to competition.

That's just what I beleave but I know that foxes and other predators take a lot more

Iv about 4 or 5 buzzards round my place now, think there are young with them this year! Iv no doubt they take young phesents but i dont really care there will still be enough for me and the odd lad i bring out with me. Dog lifted 6 the other day when out for a walk, 4 hens tho!

I walk the dog twice every day and in the last 4 or 5 weeks I've came across only two or three pheasants
