Considering Computer Science conversion course - job opportunities?

I'm a mechanical engineer, graduated a few years ago and been working since. Have been considering going a different route though, and CS is something that's always interested me, I've learned a bit of Java in my own time, etc.

There's a conversion course in UCD anyway that I was thinking of applying for, it's 1.5 academic years long I think and awards and MSc.

While I doubt there are any guarantees, from what I've gathered so far this seems to be an area where jobs are still relatively plentiful in Ireland? Giving up a job is obviously a huge decision and I'd like to know there's some chance of another job at the other end if I went for it.

Have asked on the Postgrad board about the course by the way, with no answers.
