Not a bad deal for an amazing car if you have the money.

    http://www.evo.co.uk/carreviews/evocarreviews/285697/2012_bmw_m135i_review.html

    €48k new.

    http://www.carzone.ie/new-cars/bmw/SERIES-1/hatchback

    Tax band E - €677 a year.

One of the best drives in the BMW range, notwithstanding not great looks.

Pretty well equipped as standard : -

exclusive 18-inch M light alloys, an M Sport suspension that rides 10mm lower, M aerodynamic body styling, M135i designation aluminium doorsill covers, high-gloss Shadow Line trim, and an M Sport braking system.

Its standard sports seats are trimmed in Hexagon/Alcantara upholstery and the M leather steering wheel with blue accent stitching includes multifunction buttons. It also comes standard with keyless start, remote central locking and air conditioning.

Its actually over 55k before you put an option on it and 1129 to tax according to joe duffys website.

says that it's 188g / km on the spec - should just make Tax band E.

30k sterling to 55k euro - makes it a bit expensive - carzone wrong then?

Bmw ireland price list states 198 co2, and €55,530 for manual or €58,918 for the auto.

it's the M135i sport hatch - not coupe.

They don't have the hatch listed on the one I was looking at only coupe.

Looks aside it seems like a great car and Band E tax is tolerable.

If someone has ~50k to spend on a BMW they have a lot of choice these days
    M135i
    520d ED
    328i
    330d
    etc.

All of them very good for CO2 relative to the power produced.

Looks not too bad imo with the changes particular to the M135i

The arse of it looks like a Polo, and the front end just looks wrong. I know, personal taste and all that!

Now...if I had that kind of money to spend on a new BMW, I'd probably have one all the same! That's if I couldn't bare to save a bit extra for a 1M!:D

Yeah, it does look alot nicer an less "baby's boot" shaped than the last model/non-MSport. Still prefer the coupe though, but I wouldnt hate to look at that version of the Hatch every morning.

Pretty sure the 1M ended production in July!

I think odds are you might be seeing 116d's and not a single M135i.. :pac:

I have never seen one tbh, looks like a nice car rest of the 1 series look fairly crap tbh though, anyway i will stick to worrying scirccos and GTI's for now :)

Quite good value considering it's a BMW, and supposed to be a superb hot hatch. It has rear wheel drive and a six cylinder petrol engine as well, so it's got to be good in a car that small!

The interior is gorgeous and the exterior will grow on me I think. Like the E60 looked a bit iffy when it came out but its still a great looking car 9 years on.

And its great value considering a Cupra R is 45 grand.. And this is a 3 litre 6 cylinder turbo!

Plus it's rear wheel drive as well whereas the other hot hatches out there are wrong wheel drive:)!

If only I had the money....

Well there's at least one and I'm sure at least 1 or 2 more that are 4WD
AWD is boring though. Having the safety and predictability of AWD in a Hot hatch is totally counter-productive to the point of a hot hatch.

The other RWD hatch is the luke warm Lexus thing right?

The Lexus hatchback thingy is FWD I think, hybrid.

Correct, the 1 series is the only car in its class that exclusively drives the rear wheels. Although, the M135i is available with four wheel drive and an automatic gearbox, but this is the one case where simplicity is best - so manual and rear wheel drive only for me!
