    Hi

I've just picked up a TECHNIKA 8320HD Freeview box. But there doesn't seem to be anywhere where you can input the settings to change the country from the UK to Ireland.

Can anyone who has experience using a Freeview HD box to pick up the saorview signal.

Or maybe the saorview signal isn't up yet in North Louth. Can people in Carlingford, Omeath receive Saorview yet?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

If the signal is reaching your area, then it is likely that the Technika, being a Freeview box, will put the Irish channels at the 800 mark in the epg. It does here in Donegal. Scan it again and take a look, no Irish option because it is not intended for Saorview, but it will store it and show it if it's there, I've seen them in action.
    A decent little box.

I'm picking up Saorview X2 in my home and both generally breakup free - one using a Sony Freeview HD TV and the other one via a Sony Freeview HD PVR and I live in Moira so Saorview should be reaching South Down. Channels as stated above come in at 800s but Sony set allows me to reorder them.

Use the Saorview coverage checker to check for coverage in your area now/post ASO - http://www.saorview.ie/make-the-switch/coverage-map/

The Greenore (Carlingford) transmitter comes online on Oct 1st.

    Much appreciated!

I've scanned but my box is picking up no Irish or UK stations. Freeview doesn't come online in my area until october, so hopefully by then it should work ok.

Throught Co. Down, there's only a few areas that have Saorview reception ATM. It's probably line of sight or some elevated sites that are not affected by the null to the north.

We're all looking forward to October to see just how much signal gets up this way. Hopefully we won't have to rely on the NI Minimux, which will be conditional access (as on Sky), or Saorsat which will present a whole new set of installation issues!

Tend to agree. It will be interesting to see if Premier Soccer Saturday is blacked out on Sky here in NI as this will be a pointer to what will happen with RTE mini-mux. Towards end of last season it was 'in the clear' but not holding my breath for this weekend.

Just to report that 'Premier Soccer Saturday' was blacked out on RTE 2 via Sky here in NI.

Yeah, set a reminder here for it (somewhat opptomistically it seems). But given that it was shown 'in the clear' up here towards the end of last season, I was hoping that it would continue.

Maybe as the season progresses we might get to see it!
