playing there this friday and was told the comp is on the 'centenary' course, which starts on the 3rd.
is this is the same as the 'championship' course?
    i.e. by hole # :
    (1st 9) 3,4,5,6,7,23,24,19,20
    (2nd 9) 22,8,9,10,11,14,16,17,18
    ?

Not 100% sure but I think it is allright, the Marlay course starts on the first and I dont think they have another layout from the 3rd (at least that I remember!)

caddymaster confirmed - the 'centenary' course is the marlay course with the 1st swapped out for the 15th.
the mid-am has been on the championship & the marlay over the last few yrs

not really, more of the same. finished about 20th i think.
its a tricky track in wind like that as theres so little room, the greens are slopey & quick and (as you said) the rough is very dense.
all three rounds were reduction only so most of the field struggled badly. +7 won by 6 shots.

Course was in Great Nice. Agree with the rough being very punishing. 10th & 18th were my nemesis which I covered in +10 over two rounds

I played Luttrelstown the day after...Christ I couldnt get the ball near the hole on the green...so much slower!

really tough driving holes 10/18, pinpoint draw or a really high launch over trees....neither of which im much cop at!

10th is my nemesis should be index 1 - very long, trouble everywhere I play it nearly as a Par 5

Anyone above 5 should be playing it as a Par5 for sure. Even if you hit a perfect drive its still a long enough iron to the green and there is huge trouble up there.
Positional tee shot to the gap, mid iron up past the bunkers and then less than 100m to the green.

For you maybe - for me generally quite right off tee shot as hit ball left to right then hoping to get out past 2 bunkers and praying I have 3rd shot onto green where there is trouble either side of green.

Greenbo I will be expecting you to be wearing a new watch in a couple of weeks :p
