I was hoping for some quick help :)

I wish to do a clean wipe of my computer and upgrade from my windows xp 32bit to windows 7 64bit (i have the disk and everything is compatible)

the problem im having is that when i instert the disk and start my computer, the "press any button to boot from CD" and i press buttons but nothing happens.

Everything is as it should be master and slave is fine,
I have change BIOS for CD to boot first,
I have went into boot list and manually booted from CD drive first but still nothing.. :(

any help would be great :D

    Only really leaves the disc:pac:

Ah no, seriously, did you make it or is it an original? Are you sure it's working?

Edit: what sorta keyboard are you using?

When you change bios to CD and boot with the cd do you watch the screen? It'll ask you at one point to press space bar to boot from cd. If you miss it then it wont boot from cd

In the bios look for USB keyboard controller options, make sure its enabled, could be the issue. Also try another keyboard, preferably a PS/2 one if the machine has such a port (one would think the keyboard is ok as you can access the bios but computers are strange things :pac: ).
If its 32 bit only its worth throwing in the bin.
I wouldn't say that, a P4 with 2gb RAM will run Windows 7 32bit quite well, many netbooks/low power machines are 32bit only. Fwiw if you try and install Windows 64bit on incompatable processor the installer will throw an error, the disc will boot!

I highly doubt everything is going to be smooth sailing with a P4.
