didnt see anything on this fight tomorrow

so best of luck tomorro pajo

What's the point in beating up a load of tomato cans? It's his 27th pro fight and he's facing a guy coming off 2 consecutive losses. Talk about padding a record. This is worse than Shannon Briggs record for first round KO's. At least fight someone half decent. He's only fooling himself.

Nothing to be proud of considering, he hasn't won anything of significance and hasn't even challenged for a belt of significance. Bernard Dunne won the European title in less fights.

He will be remarried alright, as the guy who went his whole career fighting bums. Pathetic really..... He needs to start getting in the ring with a lot better fighters!

Was at the ''McMayhem in Midtown" at the Garden saturday with Pajo Hyland headlining.

The fights were actually in the Theatre as opposed to the main venue. For 38 dollars it was general seating and as it wasnt a sell out I had the choice of many seats so I choose the front row in my section! Great view as it was only about 20 feet from ringside.

The FDNY were fighting the Garda and I saw the last 2 fights. Nothing much to report there so on to the first pro fight of the night with Spike O'Sullivan, with a clover shaved into the hair on the back of his head, having too much for his taller Colombian opponent (spelt Columbia in the programme!). His right hooks being particularly effective but it was a brutal left hook that finished it in the third.

Turns out Micky Ward was in O'Sullivan's corner and after he was introduced to the crowd to a great reception he posed for photos ringside. About a dozen lads went down to get selfies and I thought why not. I was literally the last one to get a photo and a few words with the legend! Told him I was from Dublin and he said he had just been there to get an award. So a handshake, a photo and a few words with Micky Ward made the night!

Just as we finished up the second fight started and didnt last long as the home town FDNY pro fighter demolished his opponent in the first.

On to the main event which started before 11pm with Pajo starting brightly against his southpaw Colombian opponent and easily winning the first. The second brought a rally and some great action as both went at it but in the third Pajo was landing at will and it was obvious he would finish this early. A right bodyshot finished in the fourth as your man took the full count.

how many fights have you had ?

Fair play to him, he obviously loves boxing and it was something he enjoyed. We all can't be winners

I'm afraid you're just showing your ignorance.

Peter Buckley is a journeyman legend in England.
He made a very decent living doing what he did.
You'll notice in over 250 losses he actually was only stopped 10 times. He was renowned for his durabillity and ability to frustrate (in particular) young inexperienced boxers. They often learnt more in a Buckley fight than in ten other journeyman-type fights.

I was going to tell you to go through his record and notice all the big names he fought (Naseem Hamed twice, going the distance the first time) but you probably wouldn't recognise the names (btw I'm not being facetious there, you just don't strike me as being particularly knowledgable).

It takes guts to get into any boxing ring, but to get into a professional ring THREE HUNDRED times is an extraordinary feat and doesn't deserve the treatment you just gave it.

Peter Buckley is a legend. The pro game relies on journeymen like him at the end of the day, looking through his list it's mad some of the names that jump up. Kell Brook had his debut against him as did Gavin Rees I think.

    How did Spike look?

Sharp as he had only fought a few weeks before. To be fair there was no danger that the 2 Irish were ever going to lose on the night.

Hyland can only fight who is put in front of him. Every fighter needs their first 15-20 fights to be against winnable opponents to get their record up. Journeymen, has beens etc.

Lou DiBello must have been in every photo taken on the night:D

Coming to this party late but I was there as well and your assessment is fairly spot on. Thought that Pajo and Spike did very well - interesting that both finished their fights with body shots and both had a big concentration of very effective body shots throughout their fights.

The power that Spike possesses is awesome and he's moving better and in better shape than I've ever seen him, both mentally and physically. I honestly believe that if the cards fall right for him he could potentially be back eating from the top table in the near future.

A couple of the FDNY Vs Garda/Rylane were good scraps as well. Bit of tension there for one or two of them but mostly they were good clean contests. FDNY won 6-1 I think

    Enjoyable night overall

BTW, that's a fine picture of my ar se in your first photo!! (Last photographer on the left!!) :)
