P5 - 59%. Im finally an ACCA affiliate. Thankfully no more exams for a while. If you're considering doing P5 next, go with Michael Barry in BPP, fantasic lecturer. Right back to bed!

    F4 - 85%
    F5 - 50%

I knew I did well in F4 but I am so happy I don't have to repeat F5. Anyone who saw me posting around exam time knows how bad I felt about that paper.
Man I am so so so happy. ]

    Passed p2 54% and p3 64%! Delighted. I really was sure I would be repeating p2!

Wow, I'm completely taken by surprise. Passed F7 and F9 but failed F8 by a mark. More in shock than disappointed. I really thought that was a banker. Has anybody else had similar experiences with F8?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 618 ✭✭✭Carter P Fly

My wife got her alert by Text, P5 Pass 55%. Thats her done now thank God, shes due our seconed in September and repeating again (3rd time lucky) would have been a nightmare.

I feel for you.. am in the same boat.. P7 was (& now still is) my last exam too and fell at the last hurdle... got 48. as a matter of interest did you do lectures or home study?

Was not confident after the exam but had a feeling it might be close.. am dreading the thoughts of doing P7 again..

    F5 - 66%
    F8 - 69%

Optimistic, delighted you passed F5, I was the other one who thought I made a balls of it. I'm really surprised I got 66% I thought I would have scraped it or failed it as I made a huge mistake and paper was a nightmare.

    Right.....off to sell the books.....

I paid for lectures from Feb - June, but my father in law was diagnosed with cancer in late April and a week later my mum was diagnosed with Stage 4 Pancreatic cancer, so I missed all my lectures from end of April including the revision... I did terrible in the exam i just couldnt get it together during the exam, question one completely threw me i didnt know what they were looking for and then i got mad i even wasted my time going into the exam when i could have been spending time with my mum.
sorry rant over :( Im just sooo fed up at this stage.

Thsi time i will be doing home study and EVERY exam question i can get my hands on

P1 and P3 although i found them ok , they can be tricky papers, all ACCA papers that are discursive i think can be hit and miss..

Chin up mate, just stick at it and you'll get there! Thanks again for the lecturer tip you have me at the start of the year regarding F8, I found him very good and got the right result to go with it;)

cocker5... I hope I do not sound insensitive or patronising but having experienced personal trauma in the past I know it puts a lot of things into perspective.

I am annoyed I failed P7 but we have the opportunity to make it right in December & if we stick at it we will get there..

F4 - 67% Woo-hoo! Only 9 more to do and slim chances of a job at the end but what the hey...

As im new to ACCA.....can you get your papers rechecked and look for advise from the administrator as to where I went wrong?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 25 Kmum

Passed F4 & F6!! Wasn't confident I'd get F4, got 65% in both so I'm happy out. Next up for me is F7 & F8, just discovered BPP are only providing classroom lectures for the professional level. Anyone any experience with the lecturers of these subjects in DBS or Griffith?

The parking in Griffith is a big plus, but some of my fellow students last term had switched from Griffith..

    Huge congrats to all!!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 561 ✭✭✭keano2012

had cormac kavanagh in DBS for F8....was ok...easy enough to listen to. kept his lectures relevant. Thought his revision and especially QBR day were really good though. Made a really boring subject some bit interesting! got me my 56%!

Where would be best for P1 Independent colleges with Shane O'Grady or BPP with Dean Coulter?

    Hi there,
I did a P1 masterclass with Shane O Grady having studied from home and found him really good, currently considering p3 classes with him

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 189 ✭✭Brad1234

Did P4 and P7.. P7 i felt went swimingly got 32% which i was shocked and couldnt believe.. Felt i didnt write pages of crap and was real precise on what was asked.. but 32% i must have made a right balls of it..

But this beats all and has me addled all morning.. I did p4 studied hard now well more than i did before.. was confident going in.. sat down looked at paper bar Q5 the theory the rest just threw me.. Earnings for Q1 didnt have a notion as for the others i new about 10% of it.. so effectively i knew about 30% of the paper and said after look get over it your back in december with this..

I am back in the december but did better than p7 by a long margin even though i only knew 30% and farted around with rest and when i mean farted i did it to make myself feel better in the exam rather than sit there and be depressed... Can you bate that! i actually dunno did they put wrong percentage beside the other subject and id love to know for piece of mind just so when it comes to studying these again i know which one i was weaker.. As i had started into p4 work over last few but now it looks like jes a bit more work im laughing as i covered all the stuff that didnt come up in detail for june and some of it should in december

Whereas p7 i spent hours and hours reading on questions all in vain cause i obviously was writing complete rubbish..

Any advice would be helpful as i aint paying them c*nt money to recheck for them to tell me i failed again when i cant view how i did

Passed f8 and finally passed f9, f9 was the bane of my life subject looked ok at outset but found it a nightmare exam both times I attempted. Starting f7 and p1 now, that break from study after June exams has gone by waaaaaaayyyyyy too quickly.

    Hi Lambanna

I'm just curious...did you do F9 a few times??? I've failed it twice now and I'll be doing AGAIN in December. But I'm gonna get it this time

Sorry for the total ignorance but is it possible to study the "P" stage at the same time as the "F" then? I thought I had to complete all 9 Foundation units before being allowed to go on to the next stage?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21 Cait04

Did F7 in June and made a mess of it, was convinced I failed. Am self studying so this was my deciding exam - if I failed this I was not going to carry on with it. I completely forgot the exam results were out today (Wednesday, odd day?) I am always up at 5am on results day to check e-mails. Remembered about results at 1pm, logged on and I passed!!!! Got 51%. Can't beleive it :D

got P2 + P5, delighted. only found out a few min ago. got a text from one of the lads asking how i did. I replied "don't know as not out until September sometime".

Best surprise ever. no stress as didn't even know i was getting them today.

pulled it out of the bag with 50% + 52%. Big Thanks to the lads in independant colleges in cork. sorted me big time

you can do P1 + P3 with the F's. you can do P2 with the F's once you have passed F7.

Passed f4 & f5! delighted. Anyone got feedback about the following Griffith Lecturers? for f7 : John Wilson and F9: Eoin McNamara (doing Naas classes for Dec exams)

Looking through this thread all seem to have studied 1 or 2 exams at a time. What's people's thoughts at attempting 3 at once? Too much or doable?

its depends on alot of things three exams will require alot of time in college at night, weekends and study etc.

for me i only ever did two at a time, I work full time 50 hours per week, so even doing college two nights per week along with weekends is a struggle.

also it depends on what level you are on.. while the F levels are difficult when your doing them (they are tricky), they seem easy compared to the P's... so i wouldnt normally recommend doing 3 P's together, they have massive course work and at thsi stage you cant really leave anything out

But if your not working full time.... you might as well try it :P

It is doable, but you'd want to clear your calendar from day 1!

I did 3 papers in June (P1, P2 and P3). I only got two of them, will sit P3 again in December!

What subjects are you thinking of doing together?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 38 TraceyH

Is P3 doable at home with a revision course? How does it compare to P1, and does it build on P1 knowledge much?

Cheers for the replies to both of you above.

Yeah, this is the thing...I'm not working and frankly without wanting to sound overly negative can't see really much possibility of getting a job here (I'm not Irish btw) so although I wouldn't dream of doing more than two whilst holding down a job I do have the time on my hands to attempt extra study. It's either that or return to the country I last worked in and go back to my old job for a bit - not ideal really...

I've F5, 6, 8 and 9 yet to do so imagine I'd try and pick three there that have their December exams spaced far enough apart. So far I've done the distance classroom learning thing with BPP.

Yeah, years of varied experience in different countries, an Accounts Technician qualification and an Accounting degree. But obviously this is not enough to get a job in this country! lol

no its just you have to have a mentor, who will vouch for your experience and tasks completed... its the PER in myacca..

Best of luck with your studies :D

you can do P1 + P3 with the F's. you can do P2 with the F's once you have passed F7.

Not exactly, you must have completed or be sitting your final F exams to register for the P level required papers.

I did 4 at a time while working part time/contract. It was a bitch but I passed all on my first attempt.
