Recently I've applied for a position on board a cruise ship. I'm very excited about this but I have the fill out a questionaire. It asks, among other things if I ever had any mental health issues, depression or sustained any physical injury and I've had all of them.

I fear that by answering honestly, I will not be hired because they will deem me mentally unstable or worse. I will be on my feet 10-12h in this position and I've had a double fracture in the past(ankle) and yes it hurts to walk but it doesnt bother me. I have a cane"just in case" but only ever used it a few times.

What would be the best thing to do? Tick no and hope they'll never find out or be honest and lose a coveted job?

I can understand why you are worried. Unfortunately there is still a huge stigma surrounding depression in Ireland. But I can't advise you whether to lie or not.

I don't think the OP stated he had depression.

OP, I think if I was in your position, I would be honest. You might be constantly in fear that they would find you out. What I would do is be totally honest but also add in as a comment that you are willing and able, fit (if you are) and any previous proven experience showing how you were able to complete long shifts on your feet.
