One thing I learned this Summer and I won't be forgetting in a long time...

Do NOT go away for two weeks in May thinking you will get a Summer in Ireland.

Do NOT wait until end of August to go away, thinking you will get a Summer in Ireland

Instead go away for TEN DAYS in late May/early June, and another TEN DAYS in late July/early August.

That way you don't have to look out the window to gray skies every day of the summer here in Ireland.

    :D

naw, it's more of a "keep watching out for deals" thread. It's amazing the deals you can get if you put a little work in - a week away can be cheaper than a weekend in Ireland.

I'm taking summer holidays in Ireland. That's how much spare sunshine I have.

I spent a month in South East Asia in April and after this summer disaster am looking at a week in Poland or Hungary for next month.

Next year I will do a month in Asia again around Spring and then three more months for June, July and August. This country is a ripoff and the weather and women are horrible so makes sense to get a break and relax, we'll all end up dead eventually so I live my life as best I can and three days of sunshine a year is not for me.

    See here.

This is precisely the kind of thing we are talking about. Generalising and blanket statements are needless and just show you up.

It is only my opinion but during recent polls and discussions here many after hours posters are in agreement with me. It is common to see the grass greener on the other side.

He has a point. All the women here are the same. Women in south-east Asia, especially Thailand have something extra special. Like a Y chromosome.

Unbearable? I just had two weeks in Corfu where it was 35degrees+ everyday and itwas wonderful. Never got sunburn either, just wear good sun cream with a high SPF.
