Koh Samui - Thailand

    Hey folks
Heading to Thailand for Christmas with my ex husband and 2 kids (yeah I know!). Anyway we have been to Thailand 6 times already and love it so know the place well. This year we are going to Koh Samui. We always stay in Chaweng but want to stay in Bophut this time - around Fishermans Village.

The idea is that we will spend Christmas Day and Stephens Day there and then my ex will take my son off for a few days fishing etc leaving my daughter (20) and myself alone. They will be back for New Year. Any suggestions as to hotels or resorts that would be best for us to stay alone and does anyone know if Bophut is the best place for this? We love the bars etc and the stalls on the streets at night but thought someone on here might be able to confirm that we would be okay in this area.

Not sure what its like at Christmas as I havent been around then.

Bophut is lovely, if your looking for a good place to stay without breaking the bank, have a look at a place called 'The Lodge'. Its bang in the middle of the village and backs onto the beach.

Stayed here twice and loved it and the owner and staff are soooo nice!!!

Thanks - will take a look. Honestly life was so much easier before we had the internet - all these pics and reviews etc are wrecking my head!

Yeah know the feeling, but that place is a must. Felt right at home- very chilled out. Stayed in some really fancy place in Chawang - cant for the life of me remember it (we only stayed there as friends were there) but we left early and went back to the Lodge!..
