    Hi all,

Need a bit of advice, im by no means fit but im trying to curb my unhealthyness and get back to being fit and thin.

I started with the basics last night with some sit ups and press ups.

However when i went to do my press ups i got an ungodly pain in my right elbow. Now ive never hurt or broken any bones there so the pain was a bit confusing.

Would it be a simple case of being unfit and fight through the pain?

Check your technique against some good youtube videos.

If your technique is ok it sounds like an injury that will need proper assesement by a physio/doctor.

Sharp pain in a joint is never good and unless you're really experienced and know your body, shouldn't be worked thru. So no. Don't just push thru.

Try lightening the load to see if that helps (see below for easiest to hardest), and make sure you're performing the exercise correctly.

    -push aways from wall
-push ups w/ hands on table
-push up on knees w/ hands on chair
    -push up on knees
    -push up on toes (feet)
