boiler noise

    had the gas serviced there about two weeks ago up to then it caused no problems then went away for two week holidays and switched of the boiler switched it back on today and its making a hell of a racket even when there is nothing heating sounds like there is water banging away and running through it the whole time ..is this normal for a boiler that has been switched off for a period of time.its only two years old

    boiler is a sime format system 24 ei press is 1 bar

    Sounds like a circulating pump issue, sometimes they can stick, or maybe pump capacitor is low. In fairness to whoever serviced it, this may not be an evident problem until it occurs.

    You may need the pump replaced.
