I bought a new pair of bibs yesterday which fit perfectly on the legs and waist I think the straps need to be a tad longer, maybe an inch. The next size up were definitely too big.

Should I go to the hassle of lengthening them - has anyone done this? Or, form experience, do you guys think they will loosen a little after a few wears?

Have you actually worn them on the bike? When you're in the "riding position" the pressure on the straps is reduced quite a bit!

I have yeah, it goes from a "bending me forward" pressure to very tight but not cutting off circulation pressure.

They won't loosen by themselves, but you could try leaving them stretched out on the back of a chair or something, for a few days.
