I'm about to get this €40 pm deal for the iPhone 4S. Has anyone else availed of this deal? Are people happy with it?

I think your making a Big mistake

I would think the Iphone 5 will be released in a few weeks ( Sept ? )

You will be stuck with the 4S for 2 years until your contract is up

Wait a little and get the Iphone 5

What's the story with the iPhone 5, is it just a slight improvement or will it be a big jump?

Meh, I will probably get the 4 then. I have reached the end of my tether with my current phone Xperia Mini Pro.

Its for this very reason that Apple would want to have something unique about the iPhone 5 if they want to stay ahead of the rest like they used to be!!

The Iphone 5 is going to be very expensive. I think its something like $800 in the US so will most likely be €700/800 here

He could very easily get the iPhone 4S for free now via the 2 year contract, and then when the iPhone 5 is out here (i'd say US in mid September - October, here around November/December) he could sell his iPhone 4S on eBay or adverts for atleast €400+ depending on the size and then just purchase a iPhone 5 from Apple:)

True but the 4S is already on sale on Adverts and Ebay for the 350 mark will be harder to sell on release of the 5

OP just get the Samsung Galaxy S III

Its better and is Free on Three for 40 Yoyos a month :D

Ok, just back from Three where I was declined a 24 month contract. Odd considering I am a full-time professional in a highly technical position, on a good salary. Even odder considering it was my unemployed mate who recommended the very same deal he just availed of. I can't help but laugh.

Lots of variables when it comes to phone contracts and getting them, just because you have a job doesn't mean they accept you. Did they not offer you the contract with a deposit atleast?

I know very well what goes into these scorecards, my job is to build such rating systems for banks, it's the same principles. It is funny that a person on the dole got a better offer than me, though. I would like to see their rating systems. They did offer me a shorter contract with a fee for the phone. But that makes them no better than the other networks. So I will have to reassess my options.
