    Hi,

Wondering where the best place to sell a car privately is? Getting pretty woeful trade in offers and would like to try to sell privately - a 03 E200 Merc. Any sense of how long it would take? (Trade in offers of c.2.5k, whereas I see them for sale privately and thru' garages for 6k+). Tks.

Adverts.ie an Done Deal and you can't go wrong, gumtree is brutal. I advertised a car an jeep on the above and sold both within 2 weeks but I made sure I checked prices of similar models, years etc.
You see some and they want 4000k and the same car with better mileage is 3400

Donedeal, especially for anything under €5k.

I'd forget about adverts.ie. It is full of people looking to buy but have no money so offer you half what you want for it or to swap it for their junk instead.

Donedeal but pick up a pay as you go sim card and stick it in an old phone as you will be driven mad by texts from certifiable idiots.

Op, definitely Donedeal is the best.
As others have said Adverts will tend to lead to all kinds of weird and wonderful offers. :D
Gumtree is not as bad as it used to be.

Gumtree is free. So why wouldn't you put your ad in there? The same muppets looking at done deal look at gumtree. Google "free car ads" and put it in as many as possible. The only one I would pay for is done deal, but the price rise was a bad idea imo.

Done Deal (€5 but highest views)
    Adverts (free but expect muppets)
    Gumtree (free)
Cars Ireland (free for basic ad)
    CBG (ditto)
Carzone (from €10 but realistically €30+. Worth it for a €10k+ car IMO)

Be careful with the not so well known sites though as most of them do NOT have secure Registration screens so you are putting all your login data in with no security.
