    Hi,

Does anyone know about the state of the social/support groups in outhouse?

I looked on the website and they only say that they "ran over the last six months". Their calendar is locked down, I've tried emailing them a while ago but got no response.

Also does anyone know if there is a general gay support group? I'm too old for belong2 and too young for the 55+ group.

No idea. Have you considered dropping in? I'm not aware of any support groups. I think the gay switchboard used to organise something, but I'm not really sure.

GMHS offers free counselling and also a 6 week personal development course

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

That's a pity, there really is nowhere to turn if you're not into the scene. Is the place still open even? I didn't want to go over there just to find shutters.

    Yeah it's still open.

What sort of interests do you have? - there are lots of offscene activities.

Are you male or female, OP? If you're female, then Running Amach are worth a look, there's piles of activities and a lot of it is very 'non scene', with a huge age range.

If you're male, there are a few other options- Dublin International Gay Social Group (DIGS) seem to have a pretty good membership.

There's also a group for 20-35 years olds which I don't know anything about but might be worth a look.

I'm more bookish so I guess you could say so it's more I'm looking to get a break from my interests :D

Thanks for the links there, I'm 27 so might check out the 20-35 one. I was aware of the DIGS group but found it catered a bit above my age group.

Right ok - what sort of things are you looking for; sports, music, books, theatre, outdoors?
