Gas lift stool repairs

Hi, hope this is the right forumn for this question. Does anyone know if gas lift bar stools can be repaired. Mine are slightly "wonky" and feel a little unsafe to sit on but they do lift up & down. Similar to the ones in the link…

I would imagine it is the same mechanism as on office chairs, and I got an office chair fixed - a new gas cannister put in - a couple of years back, they charged me about 11 or 12 euro as far as I remember. I got it done at a shop that sells new and secondhand office equipment.
