What do the numbers in brackets after the event heat name mean in the London Olympics.

    These appear on my screen.

    Thanks

Got an example of what you've seen? There would be codes after the event names for the Paralympics, but that doesn't start for another couple of weeks yet.

    Women's 400 m Hurdles Round 1 (2/20)

    Women's 400 m Hurdles Round 1 (3/20)

    Women's 400 m Hurdles Round 1 (4/20)

    Women's 400 m Hurdles Round 1 (5/20)

Men's High Jump Qualifying Rounds (1/2)

Men's High Jump Qualifying Rounds (2/2)

    Women's Triple Jump Final

    Men's 100 m Semifinals (1/3)

The (3/20) etc are what have me confused.

    Thanks

Are they just the current round and the total number of rounds, eg, semi final 1 of 3?

The semifinal 1/3 means there is actually 3 semi's, probably with 2 winners and then 2 fastest losers through to the final.

Not seen the 1/20 before, but I'd guess that is just saying heat 1 for a total of 20 competitors.
