Calf Injury

I strained/pulled my calf about 2 years ago and never really got it seen to, it wasn't a problem until i started training harder on the bike (I don't run at all now). It now feels 'weak' and strained on the bike and if I do anything over 80K it will feel strained for up to a week after. Anybody have a similar experience and what did you do?

Also I have a bad neck from an injury 10 years ago, same deal never got it sorted properly...went to a few chiropractors, physio etc...long story short what position will relive it most on the bike? Need to use freeze gel on it at the moment if I am doing long spins....

    Nice Wan

Get it sorted through a physio and a proper bike fitting?

Hard to find a good Physio who doesn't just tell you the usual 'eh you should stretch, 60 quid please' and the rub their magic ultra sound machine over your leg.....

Bike is fitted ok might be dropping my heels slightly....but will look at it again...there is an obvious inherent weakness in the muscle I'd like to get sorted..and in me neck....makes even 50k cycles painful

Dunno where your located but if your near Dublin, Aidan Woods sorted out my calf injury a couple of months ago. Knows what he's talking about. He's in Pearse Street in Dublin. You'd have to wait till he gets back from London though as he's the Head Physio for the Irish Olympic Team.
