    Hi,
My Mum is from the South and married my father (obviously) a Northerner.
I know I need to provide my mother's long birth certificate to get an Irish passport.

    a) Do I need to provide her wedding certificate too? The form just says "if applicable".
    b) Can I get the passport in Belfast or do I need to post everything down to Dublin?

    Cheers!

Were you born on the island of Ireland before Jan 1 2005? If so then you are entitled to Irish citizenship regardless of the status of your parents.

You can submit an application via the UK Post Office, the branches are listed here, scroll down to the section 'Express Service in Northern Ireland and Great Britain'...

I was born in the 80s. My brother posted me an Irish app form from the south, maybe as well just post it down there! Recorded delivery of course.

Submitting it through the post office will get you your passport faster.

Have you checked out the information at www.passport.ie ? All you need to know is there.
