LED Lights interference with backing tracks

Experiencing sporadic resetting of Cortex HDC500 music player due to Interference from Standalone LED Light Bank

Cortex HDC 500 running MP3’s from USB as backing tracks for live Band and modified (by supplier) to allow for the use of a foot-pedal to start and stop track.

Light bar is four POD LED panel GLS-4 from GLX Lighting with floor pedal array for effects selection and Blackout.

Cortex HDC 500 track stops running and shows background track information randomly during playing if the Cortex Pedal and the GLS light pedals are placed in close proximity.

Moving them apart (more than 2 metres) lessens the frequency of the problem and removing the GLS Pedal and running the Light bar static prevents the problem

If the Cortex pedal is moved close to touch the main light bar electronics the problem can be recreated even with the Pedal box disconnected.

Clearly this is an EMI/RFI type problem which I suspect is due to one of two things
1: The modification to include the foot pedal in the Cortex allows a floating ground on this circuit thus the screening on the cable and internally is not effective
2: The GLS light bar switched mode PSU’s are of relatively low quality in terms of their suppression capability and proximity will always be an issue.

Has anyone else experienced this problem and if so were there any successful resolutions.
