Police Cert of Character

    Hey there!

Quick query. Applying for Police Certificate of Character and wanted to know if there's a priority on submitting all previous addresses?

I need this thing asap so I was wondering if you put just your basic home address as opposed to including all your others does it speed up the process? Or is it essential to include every address you had under the sun (bit much no?)?

The certs for a working visa in asia. I know how long this crappy process can be and all the horror stories so any advice would be great

You do need to include all previous addresses on the form. If that means an extra sheet of paper, so be it.

Will that mean it'll take longer? I need this in the next 2 weeks

I could be wrong, but I've heard the police cert can take up to 3 months? You should call and ask.

Police Cert shouldn't take anything close to 3 months. 2 weeks should be just about enough time. Make sure you include all addresses... failure to do so will likely slow the process down.

Send in a cover letter, original birth cert, list of all previous irish addresses to the local Superintendent. There will be someone in the station who is responsible for them.

Yeah that's what I thought. Thanks a lot. Do you know... because you're a detective or is that just a quirky alias?

The former. I have the lovely task of doing the background checks for them.
