WWE's Camera-work ruins great matches

Hey guys.So I just rewatched Daniel Bryan Vs Sheamus from last nights raw and I have to say it was really entertaining match. These guys work SO well together.I honestly think that street fight was up there with their match at over the limit if not better. However it made me realise just how much WWE's over-elaborate camerawork tends to take away from great matches. Most of us have learned to ignore it at this stage , but honestly its starting to wreck my head. Its starting to get to me.:(

Every time theres some sort of impact the camera angle changes..when Sheamus was doing the chest punch move he does which Booker T,the genius once called the "irish hand grenade",the camera was zooming in and out for every punch.Why?.. Seriously we all know its fake so why have to change the angle every fukkin move to hide the impact,it takes away from the whole experience..

They do this constantly in backstage segments when somebody gets attacked and the cameraman shakes the camera violently and zooms in and out as if to make the attack seem more.....i dunno?....jesus why do they even do it it fukkin ruins every scene/match

Id love to know whos idea this was and why/when they started doing this so blatantly?, why can't we actually see a whole move without the camera angle changing when they hit the canvas??watching matches from back in the day they only did this about half as much, the main focus was always from the eh...main focus point next to the ring whatever its called.

Sorry bout my rant but any of yous feel the same?

While the camera work lately has been a small bit erratic in general I find wwe's camera work to be one of their strengths.

I hate the fast zoom in and out. TNA do it too. Don't mind the rest provided its still on the action and not cutting away to the crowd or something.

This better not be one of those things that I've never noticed before but now that it's been pointed out will ruin every WWE match I watch.

I have a funny feeling that that's exactly what it is, friend. Although, sometimes aerials are bad.

it's a bit like the way most music videos can't stay on the same shot for more than half a second.

You've kind of addressed the reason here.

Most moves, punches and kicks miss by miles and look, to be frank, horrible and fake if not hidden by the cameramen. A quick camera change at the moment of impact disorientates the viewer and hides the fact the moves aren't connecting.

I know it can be irritating for a while after noticing it. But the truth is the other option is to show how much the moves are missing by, and that would take away from the experience a whole lot more.

They only do it for those who throw sh*tty punches. They didn't do in Bret Hart and Jerry Lawler matches all that much.

    Vader.

He wasn't so much good at throwing worked punches as just intent of hitting people as hard as he could though.:pac:

Apparently that's been attributed to the guys he came into the business with, real stiff guys.

Without fail though, we see Cena drop a fist on the mat.

He must have some sort of magnetic magical powers that his STF is so effective on his opponents.

I remember watching a Match on Superstars where Alex Riley was punching his opponent in the corner, when suddenly the camera changes angle and you see him punching his shoulder! Very Sloppy for such a big company!

It's a very difficult art to perfect though, faking a fight? I think sometimes we nit-pick and criticise the professionals a little bit too much. I mean, are they supposed to just hit each other?

That's a good point, becoming smooth does take generally a decade to get really smooth. That said, from a fan's perspective, I'd much rather someone work on the stiff-side than you being able to fly a plane through a fist and someone's face (like Big Show hitting Vince).

It's probably worth noting that aside from crazy bumps, I bet it's actually being on the road that takes it's toll. The majority of wrestlers probably have maybe 30 minutes of ring time but are traveling for 3-5 days a week. You wouldn't get killed by 10 minutes in a tag match playa, but having to drive 10 hours to the next town straight afterwards would.
