I've heard that the driver theory test is to be extended from 40 questions to 80 questions, is this true and if so when will it come into force?

Maybe they just adding an extra 80 questions in the set of theory questions in the book/on CD?

Its always been 40 random questions that you be asked. 35 out of 40 to pass.

That rumour has been doing the rounds for a couple of years but doesn't have much substance.
Eventually a Hazard Perception test will come in however.

Ya I say a Hazard Perception Test is bount to be enforced at some point in the coming years. Spotted it being provisionally mentioned in an online document on the RSA website I think.

Its enforced in the UK so I say if its enforced in the UK and everywhere else its going to be enforced here I say at some point. I wouldn't be surprised as we are to be following a new model similar to the UK but some EU countries.

All the better for it as hazard perception is part of every day driving and part of the practical driving test.
