Just purchased a 2nd hand Trek mountain bike - a nice spec with hydraulic bikes, suspension lock on the handle bars.
Both tyres are well worn and will need to be changed - I have had a look here and people recommend Maxxis Ignitor Mountain Bike Tyre's as a good all rounder - I see them here in halfords for €31 each and that seems to be the best price I can see online - worth getting online ?

Do they charge much for fitting or should I go to my local bike shop for fitting?

The tyre I linked above in Halfords was only 2.1 so I checked the tyres on my bike and they are Rear 26 * 2.20 and Front 26 * 2.25 so I see these on the halfords site - Continental Baron Bike Tyre - 26" x 2.3" for €22.49 - would going 2.3 make a big differance to the bike? There looks to be a good bit of room on the frame. Or should I be looking for the same size as is on the bike?

Online on the trek site it says my bike should have Bontrager XR2 wire bead 26x2.1 front and rear.

2.1 Ignitors will be fine front and back on your bike!
Don't want to be rude but riding a mountain bike and not being able to fit tyres or change a tube is a recipe for disaster! Buy the tyres online and fit them yourself - lots of online resources to show you how ... not rocket science at all!

Yes I am going to fit them myself - just want to make sure I get the right size for it.

I was weary of going for the 2.1 when I saw the ones on it were 2.2 and 2.25.

So you reakon go 2.1 and should be ok – It will be all off road biking.
