    you should find a dimple on the bottom edge of the sill rail.... kinda v shaped...

    is the sill rail the really thin piece of metal. I have car manual and it says on jack but cannot find exactly where

    better ask a garage to show you I think...it wont be a really thin bit of metal.

    That photo shows the correct point to put the jack.
    Note that the jack that comes with the car has a shaped head which lifts the car on either side of the rail.

    Here is a pic of a similar one.

    Unfortunately the jacks bundled with cars are usually the half scissor kind and are not very stable!
    If you are using a trolley jack you might need a block of wood with a groove in it to help lift the car properly.
