Hey everyone, Inspired by the olympics and my big mouth I talked myself into a prop bet where I have to lose 1 stone in a week. It will just be a goal to reach on the way to a healthier weight. I know this is a completely weird medium to be talking about it through (especially for this forum) but for those of you that are interested I talk about it here (just skip all the gaming stuff)

Weight loss bet starts at 2.00

    ha crazy drunken bets,eh..

if you havent been trying to lose weight recently, or if its like a starting week i reckon you could do it.. as you said you can do a bit of cheating.. once your getting stuck in.. it will be a close call ... best of luck

Easily done. Drink nothing but red wine. You'll be so dehydrated the weight will fall off. Downside is you might die.

was there any rule about not being able to fill yourself with helium and or attach several helium balloons to your person?

drink a load of water before the initial weigh in. Easy!

I doubt you'll manage it but if you cut out all carbs, salt, creatine (if you take it) and other things that cause water retention for the rest of the week you should lose a good bit of weight, albeit temporarily.

Just to update on this Iv been exercising for about 2 hours a day as well as having my diet as close to perfect as I can get it. The only downside to this is I was doing a 25km cycle today and with about 5km to go the glycogen stores depleted and I hit the wall like a tonne of bricks :o

last 5km hoe was tough needless to say

Well lad, unless you're creating a calorie deficit of 7000 cals A DAY this ain't happening without some trickery like drinking a shed load or water right before the initial weigh in.

If you've been exercising and burning 7000 cals a day....... fair play to you!

At least you'd imagine the hospital would have an accurate set of scales.

if your on the one week chemical diet (i think its called) do you not lose around a stone in a week. My uncle was recommended it before surgery.

Sorry if that name is wrong

There's very little relation between losing 1stoen of weight in a week and getting to a healthier weight (is fat loss)

I'm pretty surprised you (given your frequency on the MMA forum) think that this has anything to do with a calorie deficit, especially a deficit equal to 2 lbs of fat loss a day.

1 stone difference in weight in a week isn't particularly excessive. I've never done it myself, but I'm pretty sure plenty regular posters here have for various reasons. And that would of been without he open to run the crap out of yourself before weigh-in.

    Easy money imo.

I said "without some trickery", which would include cutting IMO.
, as the OP said he wanted this to help him reach a healthier weight.

Anything other than losing it as Body Fat is no use to him in this case.

But why did you include "without trickery".
If it was just to lose weight (fat) then cutting useless. But this is for a prop bet. Why shouldn't he cut? He can put the money towards his goal of a healthier weight.

Well I read it as he was going to put the weight loss towards his goal of a healthier weight, not the money!

Only you can say how dedicated to it you are, but it's doable. I lost over a stone last week, but I'd say most of that is water weight. Once you're onto burning fat it slows down.

    I'd say he'll be around 14st 10lb.

OP knows exactly what he achieved here. Nothing more or less.
Congrats on the prob bet, easy money.

Trip to bray to see katie taylor and a slap up dinner off the eurosaver menu in the townhall? ;)

I knew an anorexic who hid weights on (and in!) herself to bump her weight up for doctors.
