Presumably you are talking about sticking yarn down onto a drawn outline to create a coloured picture? You can use any type of yarn, more important is the colour, thickness and texture of the yarn.

hi there, no - I'm looking to produce hand painted yarns and looking for undyed yarn to use. Think I've seen some on etsy that suits quantity and availability thanks though!:)
