How much of what is posted on this forum, in terms of statistics with regard to, for example distance/time covered etc do you think is lies/exaggeration? e.g. "I covered X km in Y time"?

What percentage of statistics posted do you feel are lies/exaggeration? 30 votes

What sort of disordered personality would lie on the internet (under a pseudonym) about how fast they can cycle?

All stats I quote on here are 110% accurate - so where's that option?

I lost a KOM to someone who drove their commute. At least they were honest about it (I think the ride name was "Drive to work").

The 65kph speed down Chesterfield Avenue was a but of a clue (illegal too).

78.6% of statistics are made up on the spot anyway.

43% of all people know that.

Statistical lies appear in every sports forum OP.
For example, over in the golf forum, it is well known that 84.2% of all short putts don't go in the hole.

Some people in the cycling training logs section might just do it for kicks ;)

The iPhone has an inbuilt app called the Game Center that lets you have a gaming profile and stores your scores for the games on your phone and lets you see them on leaderboards and stuff.

Someone found out that you could hack this and post whatever scores you wanted to this, for any game. They're meaningless leaderboards (i.e. no fame or money), posted under anonymous nicks.

Yet for every game there are a handful of people who have posted scores in the trillions or billions, just because.

Moral: Some people are just gob****es.

Are you 100% sure or just exaggerating?
