Day to day costs in running a counseling business

    Hi,

I was wondering if anyone could give me a brief break-down of the expenses involved in running a counseling business. So, for example, if you were charging €50 per session (1 hour), how much of that €50 would go into your back pocket after room rental, electricity, advertisements, tax, etc are taken away?

    Thanks!
    Anthony

Too many variables to say. It would depend how many hours you were renting the room for (and for what price), how many sessions per week you were taking.. You'd need to know this for room rental, gross income and also to work out the tax. You should also factor in cost of professional insurance, professional memberships, supervision and any other CPD that you undertake.

Yes very complex to work out. I have no idea, but I know that most private practice therapists I know really struggle to make a decent living from it.
