    Nice work as usual dfbemt.

I've written an app to pull the latest prices from the different websites (except tesco who only publish pictures). It's optimised for mobile devices and works ok, but there are a number of limitations such as it doesn't work offline and it only only gets information that is on the site right now. It's hosted on google app engine so it's not the fastest and there is a daily limit but I've never come close to hitting it.

    I'm interested in any feedback.

If anyone wants to try it out, it's at http://xpathpro.appspot.com/

Now with Android app too http://xpathpro.appspot.com/Health4Less.apk

Not sure if it's just me but it doesn't seem to be displaying the Aldi ones.

Incidentally, some of the bigger branches of Tesco have started to do Tesco Everday blueberries for about €1.79.

They also do Tesco Finest blueberries which cost over four euro.

Good idea, those Lidl Blueberries seem overpriced at 1791 though :)

It's not just you! When Aldi are changing their super 6 selection they take them off the website on the saturday morning, lay them out in store on sunday morning, and put the new prices up on monday morning. The app pulls down whatever is on the website at that moment, which is currently a changeover sunday, therefore no prices. Of course I didn't even bother to throw up a message explaining this ;)

I thought so too! But at least they are 69c in Aldi this week ;) Seriously I can fix this.. kinda. They're putting half the important info (3 for €2) in the image

How do you guys eat blueberries, straight from the box or do you make a desert out of them by adding cream or something.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 189 ✭✭europhile

Eat them for breakfast with granola and yoghurt.
    Throw them into smoothies.
    Or into muffins and scones.

Spotted that online, but no sign of them in my local Tesco (Lucan) today.

Incidentally, bought 10 packs of blue berries at lunchtime today in Aldi (shop was buzzing, plenty of supplies too) and between ourselves and all the neighbours' kids we've gone through 5 packs already :)

I was in SuperQuinn just now and the offers are not as per the first post :(

I really wanted some pineapple, but they're actually €3 each.

Think it's Limes that are 49c in Tesco not Lemons, at least that's the price I paid for Limes in Tesco last night, didn't see an offer on Lemons.

Just a bump for my OP as most offers end this weekend

Have really enjoyed the fruits on offer. The Aldi blueberries have been great, lots of uses and the kids have loved them by the handful.

The SuperValu Pineapples have been lovely and sweet. Again, the kids ate loads of them.

Will stock up early tomorrow morning on our favourites before the new offers come along.

The Blueberries are unbelievable! I'd often just sit there and eat a whole box no problem! Going to stock up today. :pac:
