Should I buy new alloys??

Hey folks, just a quick question regarding my alloys.
I bought a 2004 MG ZS a few months back and have had nothing but trouble with my wheels/tyres.
It had 4 brand new Nankang tyres (I know) so being strapped for cash I stayed with what was on it.
So far I've had to constantly keep an eye on the pressure in them, and have had three flats. One tyres inside wall somehow got a four inch gash right though it. Got another flat, and the mechanic said the alloy had been repaired before and the air was getting through so he patched it up. Roll on three weeks later the same tyre is flat and won't hold any air despite any obvious punctures.
At this point I'm wondering should I get all the alloys refurbished, or just go for a new set? Currently they are the standard MG 17 inch multispokes, I'm considering maybe going for a smaller alloy with higher profile tyres for a more comfortable ride.
Any opinions, or recommendations for alternative alloys, as low cost as possible!?

AFAIK they're 4x100, so you should have no problem picking up a clean second-hand set for not much money.
Any multi-spoke alloys would look ok and 16's will give a bit more comfort, but the ZS has stiffer suspension so it will be a harder ride regarless of the alloys.

That's the same car Inwas going to buy a maybe a year ago. Did you get it for under 1k, or were you the guy who paid about 2k to the guy who put it through the Nct And sold it on?

Anyway, you might consider looking at a place up north called wheelbase. You can pick up some really good alloys and you you can have the tyres too if you want. Their prices are keen and I used them to buy 18" rims and tyres about 3 years ago. Prices are from €500 with tyres. They balance and deliver, ready for installation.

You can get your current rims refurbed for €30 per wheel in Dublin. Pm me if you want details

Your own wheels are probably cracked.....

MG is 4x100 pcd I think, so easy enough to get wheels for it. Just make sure you use a spigot ring to get the right center bore :)

As for Nankangs, well you ain't gonna be driving around Mondello flat out so they'll be grand once you don't drive like a tit. :)
